What to Expect
-
Sanktuary Haus is located ½ mile down a dirt road that is suitable for all vehicles. As you approach, you will see the black privacy fence surrounding the property. You do not need to close the front gate unless you want privacy from the road. Please do not park inside the inner chain link fence – the septic tanks are underneath the gravel.
-
The front door locks automatically after it is closed. If you open the sliding doors, always keep the screens closed to keep out snakes/critters. If you get locked out, an extra key is in a lockbox – contact Desert Spirit for the code. The glass shower doors also close very fast – please slowly guide them shut.

WiFi network: CLELAND
Password: welcome!
The internet is powered by radio signal and will be intermittent when raining. Please do not touch the WiFi equipment and call Desert Spirit if there are any issues.

There are mini splits in each bedroom of the house. The A/C remote control can be found next to the doors. Press “MODE” for the desired setting (snowflake is A/C, sun is heat, circular arrows is for fan only). Adjust the temperature using +/- and adjust the fan speed using “FAN” button. The unit sometimes can take a few minutes before the heating or cooling begins. Remote must be pointing at the mini-split. During the summer, they are on a timer to come on automatically during the daytime.
-
For the automatic blinds, use the up/down arrow to raise or lower them. If you only want to move one of them, use the +/- to select the individual blind (“0” moves all of them, “1” moves the left most blind, etc).
-
To open the hot tub cover, release the 2 front buckles, fold back in half, and then pull the cover backward toward the chain link fence. The hot tub is always on and hot. Please put the hot tub cover back on when you are finished enjoying the spa.
Unattended children and glass containers are not allowed by or in the hot tub/pool. Please do not tamper with any outside pool equipment or with the electric panel. The pool and hot tub are professionally cleaned, serviced, and tested twice per week.
-
If you need to clean the counters or stovetop, please use the appropriate cleaner under the sink. Garbage can be left in the brown rolling bin or the large dumpster outside the gate on Cleland Road. The garbage is taken away every other Thursday. Unfortunately, there is no recycling in 29 Palms.

Smoking/vaping is prohibited within the house on the property and within 15 feet of any exterior door of the house. Please be advised that we enforce up to a $1,000 smoking fee. Quiet hours are 10 PM - 7 AM. Please be considerate of our neighbors. No loud music or parties, and guests are fully responsible for any county or city citation issued due to noise or other confirmed complaints during their stay.
